2 local volunteers in the villages were we serve saw children wandering around during the day without any education outlets or safe spaces to learn. An abandoned wooden shed stood on the grounds where we held FREE medical services. The volunteers took action for these children and began salvaging what they could to make it suitable, but its a long ways away. Nurses with Purpose brought paper, pencils, coloring books and many school supplies but the children require a more habitable environment for successful learning. We are in the beginning stages but know we can revitalize the space. Lets show the volunteers that their efforts are seen and not in vain. Taking the first steps of actions is where it starts.
Go from 0 to 100 real quick! Currently our partners feed children afterschool twice a week to help offset the financial burdens of food insecurity. We would like to increase the amount to every day after school! The children have very tough situations and food should not be an additional problem they face. Help us feed those little tummies by providing nutritious fulfilling meals.
During our FREE medical services, we have an influx of children playing outside in the street while waiting on their parent to complete their screening. Although it was refreshing to see children not on phones/or electronics, we knew their safety needs had to come first. Hoping no one gets hurt is not enough. We need to find a solution. We would like to create a playground in the gated premises of the clinic, which will allow a fun, safe area and peace of mind.
Our newest project to the bunch! Nurses with Purpose just launched the NWP Kenya Division, that means we are building from ground up. Deworming primary school children has been the dire request amongst any place we have visited. Once we can get this need under control, we will be off to a great start!

Your financial contributions allows us to effectively support our community outreach projects. We volunteer in underserved areas providing FREE medical services, promoting preventative health awareness and working alongside of local partners. We look to create custom ways with each partner that will create sustainability specific for their needs. Whether it is starting a new garden to help offset financial obligations for food insecurity, all the way to afterschool programs with the youth.
Your financial contribution will allow these projects to remain attainable.
During the height of the pandemic, Nurses with Purpose made contact with SHBC in hopes we would still show support in a dire situation where the world appeared not to be moving. Government funding seemed to have ceased, being diverted to all thing COVID related thus placing on a strain to other humanitarian efforts. We were honored to have worked with a man full of tenacity, but pain clearly seen deep within. His team, which consist of senior women that lives in the very community in which they serve. Their primary focus is to provide children hot meals after school which they provide twice a week. Since NWP's partnership, much improvement has occurred. Our pop-up clinic provides service every 2 weeks during season. We have established new gardens to offset cost associated with food and have attracted new partners such as SA Harvest and Wool Worth Food stores which built a new kitchen for the volunteers. To continue completion on this project, Uncle J wants to ensure the children has a safe haven with means of a kids center and playground. Being good stewards of financial contributions is what SHBC has shown us very quickly within only 1 year and we look forward for the continuation of this project.
We have several OVC (orphans & vulnerable children) sites we support. Under the direction of the site manager, we help in a variety of ways.
Our Enrichment Programs opens their world up to a variety of programs such as the arts, life skills, character building with outside activities to explore museums and historical sites.
We provide essential items, such as feminine products for teen girls, dental care, and toiletries.
As children grow in different stages of their lives, the community needs continuous on-going support and upkeep. We want to give the proper resources on all projects that will equip the children to become outstanding citizens.
